REVIEW: Pierre Cardin Light Duffel Bag

If you are looking for quality and a brand that can live up to its reputation, then this Pierre Cardin lightweight camouflaged large holdall with wheels for £109.99 could be just up your street.

One of its qualities is that it is robust, having been extensively tested to Satra levels for its wheels, handles, corners and zippers to top industry standards. It also comes with a five-year guarantee. In effect, this piece of luggage should meet the rigours of modern-day travel.

Extra Pockets Outside

Its design allows you to have a separate shoe area plus two external  pockets with inter-locking zip sliders for extra security, perfect for belongings that need to be kept in-reach such as passports, earphones, and flight details. Ideal for irregular sized items, so can double up for cricket, tool, mobile makeup, ice skate and/or bowling bag.

This wheeled duffel bag has been road tested – dragged for five hours without showing any signs of damage, on a rubber belt (road) containing two metal ridges to represent the unevenness encountered on many road and path surfaces.

Durable And Road Tested

Designed with durable poly-nylon body material for strength, to further protect the life of your easy glide skate wheels, the wheels are recessed into the case, which helps prevent them from snapping off when clearing kerbs and going around tricky corners.

You don’t have to be a muscle man or woman to carry or drag this piece of luggage. It’s lightweight and has padded cuff handles for ease and an additional grab handle.

Sturdy And Roomy

Its salient points are that it is quite roomy, sturdy and should last a long time. I’ve known people take it out on numerous trips and they haven’t had to replace it.

Not only does it look nice, but it carries a name that you can be proud of at a snip of the price.

Bag Comes With Padlock – a Very Welcome Surprise

If you are security conscious, a little surprise is that it comes with a padlock. On a recent holiday, I could fit 14 days worth of clothes, seven nights of pyjamas and still have ample room for toiletries, hairdryer and electronics. The separate shoe compartment is a fantastic addition.
One of my pet likes is the side pocket for throwing in all my last minute bits and pieces. I have recommended it to numerous colleagues who have struggled to find a case that suits our work needs. Five countries on it is still going strong.

If you want to pick holes in this case it is that sometimes like me after a few drinks it can’t stand upright. It can get unbalanced and fall over. On occasions the velcro may not have stuck tight on first go, but other than that I have no complaints. Has to be a five-star rating.
  • You can get this holdall in grey and navy. A small size at 21 inches will cost you £84.99, and medium at 26 inches at £99.99. For a fuller range of their travel suitcases, check out this page.
