If you are going on a winter holiday and are looking for a sturdy boot, then Trespass could be your answer. It has a good lining inside which can keep your snug, dry and warm.
The boot is not too expensive compared to its competitors, and is made from durable materials.
The sole is rubber, the rest of the boot is a mixture of textile and TPU. This comfy mid-calf boot is also easy to clean with a sponge.
GOOD
Having invested in a pair, I bought a size higher than my UK 9, just in case. Feet sizes vary, so it’s worth getting an extra size and then sending it back if it is too big or small. Luckily my correct size fitted.
I don’t have a dog to take for walks, but I do like to stretch my legs, and these are good for walking but not for very long hikes. My terrain in north west London is flat pavement and occasionally slightly uphill, and I have no problems when wearing my Trespass boots.
Living in England, it means we get plenty of rain. I usually avoid puddles, but if you accidentally step into one, it’s not the end of the world. These boots are pretty watertight, so there’s no fear of them getting wet.
You can also have the option of wearing one more size bigger than your normal size (as recommended) and it could make the difference when it comes to being comfortable to wear, even with thicker socks, easy to put on and absolutely waterproof.
When my wife wears her boots she tucks in her jeans into the boots as they reach her ankles. This makes her boots look good, particularly when she is pottering around the garden. They are definitely more comfortable than a pair of wellies.
BAD
For some people the boots are a bit hard to get on, and if they walk long distances like my wife, they can just like any other boots, hurt around the heel.
The size of your ankle may determine whether they are a tight fit or a bit too loose. A thick pair of tights or socks may resolve that problem. The bottom line is how often are you going to wear them?
They are not a stylish pair of boots if that is what you are after, but they do the job. The Velcro strap doesn’t always tighten the boot as much as you would like.
CONCLUSION
If you are looking to get someone a late Christmas present, then this fine pair of boots might be just what you are looking for. Just make sure you get the right size, so buy two pairs and then send one back. My wife does that all the time and it works. These days you will be hard pressed to find some decent boots in a shop, it’s mostly all online.
These will keep you warm and are snug and waterproof. They are much more comfortable than wellington boots and even if they don’t look spectacular, they do the trick. They keep you warm.
