REVIEW: Hanke’s Carry on Suitcase

One of the great features about this small cabin carry on suitcase is the number of airlines that allow it as hand luggage. According to its publicity more than 100 airlines will accept it and that includes such major players as British Airways, Ryan Air, Virgin Atlantic and Emirates.

This small functional suitcase measures 52cm x 35cm x 20cm and that includes the wheels and top handle. The castors rotate at 360° with ease and are hard-wearing.

Lightweight And Durable

This hard case luggage is lightweight and durable – so it can be knocked about from the plane to the luggage carousel at will – and has an anti-scratch feature. It glides smoothly in every direction when you retrieve it, and it can cope with such elements as a cobblestone road, sidewalk, ice, lawn and carpet once you have collected it.

Because it has a TSA approved combination lock, it means this allows airport security to inspect your luggage without damaging the lock. Once you buy your case the three digit combination number from the factory is set at o:o:o so you have put your own number.

Remember Your Luggage Code

Make sure you make a note of it and don’t forget it. I usually create a word document on my mobile and put it in there. Sometimes people inadvertently reset the number and forget the number, so spend ages trying to remember the code they have inserted.

Inside the suitcase it comes with 2 zippered dividers enclosed compartments and cross ribbon to help keep your belongings in place. A PVC pocket helps keep your toiletry waterproof.

One thing to remember is that this suitcase only weighs 2.35kg, so if you are using it for long haul, the maximum you can place in it is 4.7kg. In that case, a backpack which is much lighter might be a better option.

Weekend Trips

This suitcase is more suitable for weekend trips or for carrying valuables when flying long haul. It has enough space for such items as essential documents, passports, cash for onboard purchases and medication that is needed when travelling.

I took it on a short trip to Paris and had no problems with it. The only downside was that it doesn’t have a handle on the side of the suitcase, but it’s not the end of the world. I also used it for a trip to the hospital to put my pyjamas and toiletries in. It’s a great suitcase and for the price, a good value purchase. I would highly recommend it.
