REVIEW: Thumbs Up For This Adapter

If you are looking for the perfect travel adapter then this one gets a big thumbs up. Nothing as they say in this world is totally perfect, but this comes pretty close.

You can use this all-in-one adapter in more than 224 countries in the world – and that includes Europe, USA, England, Germany, Spain, Italy, Asia, Thailand, Australia, China, Japan, Israel, Colombia, and many others.

The travel adapter comes with a 4 USB and 1 AC socket, each USB charges up to 2.4A, total output is 5V/3.4A max. It can charge 5 devices simultaneously. This travel adaptor AC socket also supports 100 to 250V, 50/60Hz. Max Power 2500W at 250V and 1100W at 110V.

One of its main benefits is that it is compact and portable. It measures 7.1 x 5 x 5.3cm. The all in 1 input concept meets your various travel needs, and saves you a lot of luggage space without having to carry extra plug adapters. Safety wise it is made of ABS, with 10A overload double fuse and security shutters, to guard your trip.

Good points

Because the plug has 4 USB ports, I managed to charge an electric shaver, 2 phones and a power-bank at the same time – perfect for when a hotel only has limited outlets available. The plug is approximately 2″ wide on each side and 2 .25″ in height.

It covers most of the world and looks well built. I tested all its functions out using the UK adapter and it works very well. The plug comes with a leaflet which describes the charging arrangements on the plug, so you know what’s what.

It is fused so that gives a level of protection and the plug doesn’t get too hot either. You just have to remember to carry a spare fuse with you, though it does contain a spare, just above the fuse holder.  The design is sturdy and although it is fairly heavy it doesn’t take up too much space in your bag. For the price of £15.71 I felt it was a steal and an excellent performer. I highly recommend it.

Bad points

I’ve not travelled to Nepal or India and apparently in those countries I have been told you need a “round pin”, so it doesn’t work there apparently. So it can’t be totally regarded as “Universal”, I suppose. A friend of mine who went to Vietnam and considered it a bit bulky. He had to wedge it so that the adapter could sit properly. He also told me it was also a pity that the plug did not come with a travel bag.

Conclusion

There are a lot of adapters on the market but this one appears to cover most, but not all countries. A big positive is that you can charge up to four things which can be a great help if you don’t have many sockets in your hotel room. It may be a bit bulky, putting it mildly, but placing it into a travel bag would only make it take up more space, so I would rule out this criticism. For the price, it is very popular among tourists and does everything you want it to on the tin. Definitely a five-star product.
